Season Of Changes

Friends! Hope you are doing well making the best of this season. Needless to say this summer has been a season of change in our ministry through experimenting, conversations amongst our staff and other college ministries as we strive to bring the good news to the ears of our students. Meanwhile you have remained faithful to me and our Collin ministry despite the changes and hurtles you have faced this season. Whether through prayer or monetary partnership, thank you!

Praises:
  • P.A.C.C.S (Prayer, Adoration, Confession, Commission, Scripture) is a small group of 1-3 students that build a deep friendship by sharing life with each other through prayer, praises, confession, challenges, and reading scripture. Our Collin women staff decided to start one this summer and it has brought so much life to each of us. This group has allowed us to get comfortable and lean on one another through good and challenging times. Here is a silly picture of us on our way to the lake.
  • On a normal summer we would have sent a group of students to SICM (Student Institute of Campus Ministry) in Bellingham but due to COVID we had to make changes and figure ways we could still bring some of that content to equip our students. We developed a 3 day training program called S.L.T (Student, Leadership Training) where we offered an online option and an in person social distancing option. Unfortunately I suck at capturing some of these moments so I have this picture of Shayla teaching one of our classes via YouTube.
  • Two week Bible Boot Camp! similar to SLT but this time opened to any student who wished to sign up and deepen their knowledge in certain books in the Bible could attend either in person or online. We received great feedback from students that we are working on planning our next one this month of July! Here are some pictures of the in person service.
  • One of the challenging things about the apprenticeship was not being able to reach my fundraising goal nor my minimum. Summer is a time where our staff works hard on fundraising for the upcoming year. Before the Summer started I promised God I would surrender my fear and work hard on fundraising. I started knocking doors, sending letters to my neighbors, calling some of you and God kept presenting me with people that were excited to partner with me. I am tearing typing this up, but I am currently at 94% of my fundraising goal, thank you!!!
  • The changes COVID brought as well as the racial issues that were becoming more apparent and real to our country affected me negatively. From my personal experiences in secular jobs, anything that is not pertaining work, whether it has to do with politics, racial issues or not it was never up for discussion or conversation. This summer more than ever I have seen our directors and team come together and not take these issues lightly but rather think of them deeply and seek the Lord's guidance.
On a personal note. My abuelito (grandfather) has tested positive for COVID. Thursday night he had to be admitted into the hospital due to breathing difficulties. Friday my family received a call from the Doctor saying he will most likely not make it. This has brought pain to my family and I ask that you join me in praying for all of them. Pray that through this season my family as well as my abuelito can lean and know God.

Know that I am praying for you, lets not loose sight of what God is doing in our lives and those around us. I want to leave you with this song that has been powerful and has served me as a prayer during this time.

For the Kingdom,

Adriana
